Breakfast With Santa 2009

Amber, Anna Beth, Erin, Sydney and Lauren
Sydney loves to "write" and also loves to look through magazines, so we wrote a letter to Santa in case she didn't want to talk to Santa. She held it the 20 minutes we were in line and was actually excited to see him.
She picked out a vacuum/mop/cleaning cart, a bike and a "hat" aka helmet :).
Emma, Ashley, and Elli
So, we finally get up to the stage and Santa and Sydney threw the letter on stage and froze. Brent and I swapped places and I sat her in his lap and walked off really quickly. She did it!

Thanks to everyone on the Committee for the Future who worked so hard on the fabulous event. It is the only day of the year when there are more healthy kids on the campus of Arkansas Childrens Hospital than sick ones.

Aunt Erin's 2nd Annual Cookie Decorating Party

WOW. Thank you Erin for caring, as always, for every detail. WOW.

Happy Birthday Uncle John!

Whew. Coming down from our sugar cookie high we ate pizza with Gigi and Grandaddy for Uncle John's birthday. We love you Uncle John!

Trying to get a cute Christmas card pic...

Thanks Aunt Erin for spending Saturday morning shooting some pics! We took her dog Izzy too and that was the secret ticket to try and get some smiles. See below for her reward for smiling- taking Izzy on the leash. I did save our favorite for the cards...

Lights and a pony ride on the Fayetteville Square

We were heading to dinner the night before Thanksgiving and it was a perfect time to stop and see the lights on the Fayetteville Square. Of course I didn't have my camera with me, but Aunt Sherri snapped several with her phone. Wow- this will hopefully be a new tradition! It really was beautiful! I couldn't believe that the same girl who wouldn't ride on the hay ride at the pumpkin patch wanted to ride on a pony, but she climbed right on and had a great time.

"O Lord, Thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will give thanks to Thy name." Isaiah 25:1

We spent a couple of nights in Springdale with the fam and enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. We got home late Thursday and Sydney and I have loved having 3 whole days at home without work/school/plans/etc. Whew. Much needed time at home to clean, decorate for Christmas, and of course, cook up some yummy meals both in the real kitchen and in the playroom.
Scott was selected in a lottery to duck hunt with the game and fish at a great spot north of Searcy, and he took Brent and Mike. I couldn't stop laughing yesterday because Brent's idea of roughing it is a Motel 6 without cable, but he camped in a TENT during the AR/LSU game. Wow- dedication to hunting. As Melanie said, I will never understand men. He did snap a few beautiful pics setting up camp yesterday.
