I heart Sundays!

"Hanging" out before church
*** SPOILER ALERT***
We had a 30 minute dance class this afternoon in costume instead of a dress rehearsal for the big recital. They are dancing to Michael Buble "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and at this moment he sings "Shakes all over like a jellyfish". Stay tuned :)

Jennifer's Shower

My sweet friend Jennifer is getting married! In fact, she told me today it is in 27 days (not that she is counting or anything). We had a shower for her this morning at Dayle's and Jenn, we are all so excited for you and Dean!

I looked over at one point and Katie was letting Sydney play in her makeup. Miss Katie also adorned her pig tails with some fresh hydrangea from the table :). I looked a little closer and realized it was Chanel makeup. Thank you Katie!

After nap we went for a swim at the neighborhood pool. We had to fish Sydney out from under water- 3 times. From the baby pool. Seriously- wild child with no fear. She just jumped in and then other times would just throw herself from standing into the water like she can swim and then once we pulled her up- no tears! She grinned and laughed. No relaxing for me at the pool this year!

Fun in LA!

Corbin has a great set up on the dock- a huge playpen area with a water table and a swimming pool in the shade. Sydney called it the ocean all weekend, which technically it was.

Loving the boat ride!!!

A little girl in 2 minutes of time out learning to share our toys. Corbin said "This will totally be a senior yearbook picture!"
I LOVE this picture! Aunt Teeny relaxing on the couch and keeping Sydney busy with Barney on her IPhone! Why haven't I thought of that?!?!

Oh my goodness! We are all exhausted because we had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend in Louisiana visiting the Levins. We were finally able to see the "camp", which is really a condo on the Bay/Gulf of Mexico. We were able to get some sun, swim, ride in the boat out on the water, and of course eat. Everything was gorgeous, the food was fabulous, and everyone loved getting to visit and relax. John Austin called Sydney "baby" all weekend and Corbin said after we left he walked around calling for "baby". Sydney was AMAZING in the car- almost 7 hours one way- but she was seriously amazing. As long as we had snacks and the Wiggles, we were great! The last night we were there while we were saying our prayers, Sydney smiled really big and said "Fun- Teeny House!!!". Thanks as always for being a great hostess! Oh, John and Brent stayed while the babies were sleeping Sunday night and the girls got to go to a Cajun dance party with a live band. Sincerely, it was the most fun I have had in a long time!!!

Wild Child

Sydney LOVES lawn mowers. I do not know why, but she yells out "lawn mower!" when we are driving down the road and sees someone working in the yard. Random but sweet. Saturday afternoon Brent was mowing the front yard and I heard the front door open and this is what I found. Sydney had opened the door, moved her chair to the frame, and settled in for a front row seat to the action. Actually it was very sweet and Brent said every time he looked up she was waving like a proud fan :). Oh, and she had taken off her clothing prior to this.
Tonight we met the Wolfes at Chuck E Cheese for a play date. But I think Melissa and I actually got a workout in trying to keep up with them. I didn't get a single picture of Jackson! I know the picture of her on the horse is a little blurry but she was so proud of riding all by herself I had to document it! She has hit a spurt of being very active and every time I turn around she is doing something wild and crazy- like drinking hydrogen peroxide (just a sip but I had to call poison control for the first time!), jumping from the ottoman to the recliner (which happened to be at least a foot apart), climbing onto the dinner table (on top of the table), digging in the trash for hidden treasures, taking her clothes and diapers off whenever the mood suites, and trying to swim in the bath tub (under water without assistance). Lord help me be aware of the balance between independence and danger!!!! One more sweet moment of the day I want to remember! We went for a check up at the ENT and both of her tubes look great 12 months out, which is really good. She has always cried when he looks in her ears and acts really sincerely scared when we go. Today I took a sucker with us and we talked about being a big girl, that Mommy was going to be with her the whole time, and that there was no reason to be scared. I told her she could have the sucker as soon as Dr. G looked in her ears. We heard him talking outside the door and she whispered to me "Here he comes. I not scared." and then she gave me a huge hug. I melted. What a big girl she is becoming right in front of my eyes! Amazing.

Singing in the Rain!

Seriously, I heard this morning that it has rained 10 inches in 11 days in central Arkansas! Our average for the entire month of May is usually 5 inches. So when life gives you lemons- make lemonade right? Julia gave Sydney an umbrella for her birthday that just so happens to match her lady bug rain boots. So after school yesterday we got to play in the rain and she loved it! She was jumping and splashing in every puddle and couldn't quite figure out that the umbrella was to keep the rain off instead of swinging around. We warmed up in a bubble bath afterwards, and she settled in to watch a little Wiggles while I made soft tacos and the fixings for dinner. What is it about the Wiggles?!?! Just so I can remember, she is OBSESSED with them right now. She knows their names and everything! :) Here's wishing for a sunny day today (at least the forecast said partly sunny until tonight- when there is a 60% chance of thunder storms) !!!!!!

Sweet Sydney

Sydney-rella!! Dance is almost over for the year and you have learned so much and enjoyed every second of it. Seriously, if I could take you every night you would want to go. Mrs. Shelly is so sweet and loving (and I think she likes you too!) and every night you run in and give her a hug or a high five. This week was one of the first nights you were able to stand on one foot and really tap your toe, and you also are remembering the dance routine you are learning for your big recital. Well, I have no idea if you will even get on stage and do anything, but we will try! I am SO PROUD of how hard you work to keep up with the big girls, but more proud of you for having a sweet and tender spirit that celebrates every song and also encourages and cheers for your friends when they do well. I am so blessed to be your mommy! Love you doodle bug!!

Birthdays are good for you! Statistics show that the more you celebrate then longer you live!

Whew! This has been a very busy 2 weeks! 6th wedding anniversary- 30th birthday celebrations- Kris Allen Concert- Mothers Day. I will just hit a few of the highlights. Pictured above are my two favorite smiles in the world. Tuesday night my OBU girls helped me celebrate my big birthday and we were so busy (doing what we do best- talking, laughing, and eating) I didn't get a single picture! Love you girls! Wednesday night Ashley and I snuck away for 2 whole hours to celebrate both of our birthdays and I think we said enough words for a month into those 2 precious hours together. Then Friday Amber's firm hosted a Kris Allen watching party on their deck. It was so fun just to see the crowd and hear him sing!
His motorcade came right underneath us!
Kris! Up here!!! I have voted every week multiple times for you!
Welcome back home!
Saturday morning we hosted a sip-n-see for Julia and Spencer. The hostesses...
With Julia...
The man of the hour. Isn't he ADORABLE??!?!?!?!! He is just 9 weeks :)
John Austin came by for a second to say hi and snag a cookie. I am so impressed at what a big boy he is walking and talking. Thank you for being such a sweet heart on the plane for your Mommy!
My favorite part- these sugar cookies were at the door as a party favor. Beautiful and yummy!

Then Saturday night we had a great dinner to celebrate my 30th birthday at my favorite restaurant- Capeo!! There was even Carrot Cake :)

I am so thankful for the cards, phone calls, messages (OK Face book on your birthday makes you feel like a rock star!), gifts, laughs, and most of all, to be surrounded by so many wonderful friends and family members who took time out of their busy lives to make silly ole' me feel loved and celebrated.
