Happy Memorial Day Weekend

We had a wonderful and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. My parents have bought a little place on the Little Red River in Heber Springs, and it is so beautiful. Their back porch literally overlooks the river, yet Greers Fairy Lake is only 10 minutes away! So we got the best of both worlds. We spend Saturday fishing and enjoying the river, and then we spent Sunday on the lake. I am amazed yet again with how beautiful Arkansas is. We saw geese, trout, cranes, and a bald eagle's nest with 2 young eagles! And of course we got spoiled with all kinds of great food. Thank you Smiths for letting us crash all weekend!!

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while. We have been so busy! I swear almost every night for 2 weeks we have had something. But, last night the college girls took Megan out to eat at Cafe Prego. She and Grant are moving to Greenville, South Carolina to begin their new lives as Dr. and Mrs. Bennett!! I could not be more thrilled for them, but of course, it is bitter-sweet. We all made pages for a scrapebook for her, and it was so fun to see all the old pictures (and bad hair, brows, and straight leg jeans) from about 10 years ago. We'll miss you Megan!!!!

27 Candles...

Well, my 27th birthday has come and gone. I must say that I am so spoiled! I got to celebrate for 5 days in a row with family and friends. Is it just me, or do birthdays make you pensive? I feel as though each year that goes by the important things get more and more important and all the rest is feeling just like that- the rest of life. So, this year, I'm commiting to spend time focusing on faith, family, and friends- the important things!! Oh, I love this picture not only because it has my beautiful, handmade cake from my mom, but Brent is much more concerned with the whole table going up in flames than me getting a picture!
