Lesson Learned- Go Visit Your Grandparents!!

My precious grandparents and Barkley
The girls

I'm feeling very nostalgic since my paternal grandfather passed away, so I thought I'd post a few pictures from my last visit in early June to see my other grandparents in Fort Smith. Pictured are my grandparents (and their very spoiled dog Barkley), my mom, my Aunt Sherri and I. Why does it take death to make us really appreciate every moment with our family?!?!

Poor Misty...

Poor Misty! She had 2 tumors removed one from her chest cavity and the other from under her right eye on Tuesday, and just this morning she tore several stitches and we had to rush to the vet again. Other than looking really pitiful and having to wear a dorky lamp shade, she should make a full recovery.

Happy Fathers Day...

Wow, what a busy week. We have spent nearly every available minute in Lonoke spending time with my family that is for the funeral. Thank you so much for all of you who sent your love this week, either through comments, emails, phone calls, cards, and/or flowers. The best blessings in life are good friends and this week has proved that to me again. We spent Fathers Day split between Heber Springs with Brent's family and Lonoke with mine, with a short visit with Joe this afternoon. I am having some trouble uploading pictures so I'll have to add a few later...

Granddaddy Bo

My grandfather passed away yesterday at age 83. Grief is strange. It comes in weird ways and emotions. I am so thankful for every visit and moment with him. He lived life to the fullest, and this past Christmas took the family on a cruise! He fought in 3 wars as a Marine, and for as long as I can remember flew an American flag in front of his house- before Desert Storm and 9-11 made patriotism the accepted American way.
