OK, I'm afraid that I must be nesting already. Now, given my OCD tendencies and anal personality, it really should not alarm me. But, this is a new low: I can't stop making lists of things I need to get down around the house and in the nursery, things I need to get done at work in the next 6 weeks, things we still need to get before she gets here, things I have learned and haven't learned in our classes, and I have 3 books started but not finished that I feel this need to read every word. HELP!!!! Please tell me that other new moms felt this overwhelming sense of... trying to prepare for the most life changing experience ever??? And I know in my head that I can't even begin to be prepared, but it is nice to plan, isn't it!?! We got a wonderful pack-n-play as a shower gift, and Brent put it together tonight while I watched American Idol (more just to get me off his back about putting the stupid thing together, but I don't care his motives). I think it is going to be perfect. Our plan (I know I will live to regret I ever said those words) is to keep it set up downstairs in the guest bedroom as a diaper changing station/nap time spot for the downstairs. These things come with everything: a music box, light, vibrating motion, diaper changing add-on, a canopy, and even a mobile. Please note that I even have a few newborn size diapers ready. Now, where did I put my list so I can add that we still need wipes...

You do whatever makes you feel most proud as a mommy. You go with yourself! I did some of the same things as you. I didn't read, but really tried to have everything in place before Jonas arrived. It might not have helped anyone else, but I loved getting everything ready for my new baby. I was putting my mommy motives into practice. Thanks for sharing your mommy-antics.
Girl, just like you I tried to read every book in site. I was just thinking this morning I should give away the millions of books I purchased when she was born. The funny thing is, I am not even a big reader so I should have known better! I love the thought of you being a mommy. You are going to be such an awesome mommy! Don't those newborn diapers look so tiny? :)
Lauren,
Tell Brent if he ever needs a place to hide out I'll give him the code to the extra key in the back! Ha ha! You'll be a great mom you are very very smart and perfectly prepared. Just think of the idots that do it everyday with perfectly normal babies, if they can do it...you have nothing to worry about!
Love you!

Obviously my computer froze! Sorry it posted a million times!
I am still waiting on my pics of Syd's room!!
Lauren,
Don't think you're crazy - Jeremy and I put together our pack and play last weekend. And you're due before me! I agree about being prepared, but I've not yet hit that nesting phase. I'm sure it will come soon.

I think it's great that you're getting prepared. I hope you're taking notes and highlighting the good parts in all of these books!
Lauren- go lay on the couch and don't do one more thing. There will be plenty to do when the baby arrives. Put the lists aside and take a deep breath, everything will be fine.
Yes, I agree with whoever wrote the last comment. You better relax now because in another month and a half, your life will be crazier than it's ever been and it's not like if you don't have wipes or something like that, you or Brent can't run around the corner to the store. Many of the necessities are also given to you at the hospital. I can't say that I followed that advice myself, but I didn't have anyone to tell any different. I would focus on getting the work stuff taken care of, though, so you don't have to worry for one second about it while you are gone. That's my two cents, for what it's worth!
ok, now for my 2 cents, no matter how much you are prepared, you are never prepared! So, get as much stuff done as you can, but also enjoy every min. you have of peace and quiet and every min you can with B, cause its hard to come by after the baby comes! :)
I haven't picked up a book this time around, sign up for babycenter.com and then they will e-mail you everything you need to know, week by week! Trust me, if I can handle it, you sure can too! :) Love you!
Lauren-
You are going to be a great mom! Take it easy, you deserve it! (and email me if you have a minute to spare)

Well I had to hop on to your blog and check out all the excitement! Her room is adorable (I'm commenting on an old blog right now- "Nesting" to be exact)! DO NOT worry about anything. The only thing I reccomend is getting a bag together, but I didn't even have that and I share in your OCD. Since Ruthie decided to come 4 weeks early, we didn't get to attend our birthing classes that were scheduled for the next week (the intensive 3 night course) and everthing went great! The nurse gave us a crash course for free and it was just enough info. Relax and enjoy, you are going to love that little girl like you can't believe (and tell Angie I said "Hi"). Hugs and Prayers
