I want to share a song that I can't stop listening to these days. I actually first heard it last 4th of July weekend. I drove over to the lake by myself after work and Erin had just burned me a copy of "A Grateful People" by Watermark (an EXCELLENT praise CD by the way!). The last song is called "Elliana's Song" and I teared up when I heard it because my hearts desire was to be a mommy! God is so good, because we found out we were pregnant on the 4th of July when we got home from the lake! Anyway, I listened to that song a lot when I was pregnant, and now that Sydney is here I can't stop playing it! I feel like it perfectly captures my heart's prayer and I wanted to share it with others. For my purpose, I'm inserting Sydney's name when she says her daughters name. I want to upload it into the blog, like a utube post, but I don't know how to just put a song. If anyone does, please leave directions in the comments! For now, I'll leave you with the words...

Baby woman- tiny in stature
But your heart is a treasure
Little Princess- Come follow behind me now
I am reaching for you
Sydney, God has answered my prayers
Sydney, God will conquer my fears
Oh, to mother a daughter
To look you in the eye
To know that I did everything to walk with you in life
To give you to Jesus
that He would impart
the wisdom that I'm longing for to mother your heart
Sydney, God has answered my prayers
There will be others, to lead and to guide you, girl
But only one you'll call Mother
The honor is all mine
To show you what a woman is like
I'm so glad you're mine
Oh, the tenderness of God is twirling around in our living room tonight
Oh, and lighting up your Daddy's eyes
I know he just wants to freeze you in time
Sydney, God will conquer our fears
To care for a daughter
To look you in the eyes
To know that we did everything to walk with you in life
To give you to Jesus
that He would impart
the wisdom that we're longing for
to love your little heart
Sydney, God has answered our prayers

I need to listen to that CD...my favorite song for my daughters is Martina McBride "In my daughters eyes"

That how I tear up!
Trust me, you will have many many more 'good tears' along this road God has placed before you.

Enjoy motherhood,
