Thanksgiving 2012

This has been an emotionally draining and exhausting fall for our little family. In August: I started a new job, Kate started daycare and Sydney started kindergarten. Then on September 1, our beloved nephew Drake was suddenly and tragically taken from our earthly family. While we are all celebrating Drake's life and the impact he has had, we are truly grieving the loss of such a precious loved one. My stepdad, Joe, was involved in a grueling campaign for the mayor of North Little Rock, which was extended and additional three weeks for a run off. The second Election Day was the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, so he was needed near home and was not able to join us in Fayetteville this year. Mom and I took the girls up the day before Thanksgiving and we all tried to celebrate and spend some time together. Brent drove up just for lunch and then we all rushed back to NLR so it was fast and furious!

We did find time to enjoy a few tea parties and dance parties though!

Love having a cousin in Fayetteville! Ross Wheeler is adorable!

And then, we went to see the lights on the square. And my children begged to ride A CAMEL. Not the princess horse drawn carriage, but the camel.

My heart is full of thankfulness for all the God has given. And I will praise Him in the storms of life and every season He places me in. Praying for calmer winds ahead.
