Halloween Festivities Begin!

Sydney, Carlee and Caroline had fun at Boo at the Zoo. I will say that dressing up and the carousel were the highlights. She was pretty cold in her Minnie Mouse costume, but stinkin' cute!

Saturday morning was Greer, Addyson and Ava's birthday party. I had her dressed in a cute sweater, but she came downstairs and saw what the Boyds had on and cried "I be a cheerleader!!!" So we had 1/4 of a squad for the Razorbacks :)
The party was a Candy Land themed party and was so beautiful!!!
Working really hard on decorating/eating a cookie. I looked away for one second and when I looked back she was eating a spoonful of sprinkles from the bowl.
She is her Mommas girl going for the sweets over chocolate!

Night Night Big Girl!!!!

We just spur of the moment decided to turn her crib into a toddler bed this afternoon. Needless to say, she was so excited and we had to set rule #1 immediately- no jumping in the bed :). I set back up the video monitor and made sure I showed her how Mommy could see her sleeping and staying like a big girl in her bed. I know night one has just begun, but she climbed right in after prayers and stayed put. Knock on wood. I am going to DIE if I wake up in the middle of the night and those dimples are standing 2 inches from my face!!!!

Sydney Moments I want to remember

* Sydney is already talking about Santa. She is so funny, she will say "It not Christmas right now. Santa at the North Pole making me toys." We have gotten a couple of toy catalogs, so I thought it would be fun to look through them last night. Of everything in the whole thing, "Sydney-rella" as we call her picked a vacuum. Of course! The best part is, 2 weeks ago sweet Dawne at work found the exact thing Sydney picked out from another site and it is already hiding in Gigi's attic, I mean Santa is at the North Pole making it. Now lets just hope her wish list doesn't change too much in 2 1/2 months!

* Erin kept Sydney last Friday night while we went to Fayetteville, Thank you Erin!!!!, and out of the blue Sydney said "My Daddy a nice guy." :)

* Her favorite song right now is "God Bless America" and she knows all the words. So sweet to listen to that little voice singing. I got a video of it but it is taking forever to upload. She climbs up on the fire place and says "I sing on stage like the Wiggles do!" and proceeds to sing "God Bless America". My favorite part- "from the parries, to the mountains, to the oceans (imagine her going into her highest falsetto for this last line) white with foam..."

* Her new "thing" to say when I walk in her room every morning is "My eyes wake up." She is also obsessed with Mr. Sun and says "Mr. Sun wake up too!". Then at sunset we talk every night about the fact that "Mr. Sun going night night like me."

* Baby dolls are probably her favorite toy right now, and she is such a good Mommy. She will work for several minutes to get their blankets just right so they can nap, and then will sit by them and pat their backs.

* The main "battle" we have with her these days is that she wants to do everything by herself. "I do it!!!" is said to me several times a day, from brushing her teeth, putting on shoes and jackets, feeding the dog, putting a new bag in the trash can- seriously she wants to do everything all by herself. Any other Moms out there struggled with the balance of independence and time management?!?!?!?! Like when we need to get out of the door!

Catching Up!

Celebrating a Razorback victory over Auburn with the Boyds last weekend.
Sybil, Samantha, Sydney and I celebrated the Susan G Koman 2009 Race for the Cure at the Pasta Party at the Travelers Baseball Stadium. One hit was the pink fire truck.

The girls were also big fans of the live music by the Rockets
Our annual trip to the pumpkin patch...

Just a quick shot from school one morning last week :)
The last weekend in September was Matt and Melanie Parker's wedding. Here is Aunt Erin helping sweet McKenzie down the isle.
The happy family!!!!!
Congrats you guys!!!!!!!

We spent the weekend at Aunt Sherri's. Mimi was under the weather but we did get to see her for lunch on Sunday. We love you both!

I am a PC

So sad to report that I am a PC and we saw the "black screen of Vista death" this week on my computer. It is being rushed to surgery in the morning, so I will be on a little blog break. Here are a few pics from Friday afternoon with Mackenzie Parker to tide you over!!

Philipians 4:13

Yesterday afternoon we celebrated Carson's 4th and Elli's 3rd birthday- look how excited they are to be the center of attention! Sydney had a great time at the party, which was a Brian Kinder concert at the Summit Church. Of course I told her we were going to Elli's birthday party, but when we pulled up to the church Sydney said "I no go church! I go Elli's party!?!?" But she soon figured it out and had a great time. Several times all the other kids were sitting and listening and Sydney was up dancing and jumping around.

Please notice the one child that is up and jumping/dancing

Whew. Other than the birthday party, I also worked at Rhea Lanas until past midnight 4 nights this week. In addition to being a mom and wife and working my regular Speech Pathologist job, I have worked over 60 hours as a manager at Rhea Lana's, which is a huge consignment sale in Central Arkansas. I sincerely do love helping people find great things for their families, help them sell things they no longer need, and getting to do lots of shopping for my own. That said, I am ready for a break from working 2 full time jobs!!! This morning at church I was supposed to work in the 2 year old class, so I told Sydney all morning I was going to be her teacher and then they needed a 3 year old teacher instead. Needless to say, that wasn't going to work so Sydney got to come in the big girl class today and have worship with the 3-5 year olds. It was really special to get to watch her try and say the monthly memory verse and participate in singing. Of course music is right up her ally, especially because all of the songs have hand motions/dancing. I snapped this of our group and Sydney singing "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength". Whew. I know one teacher who needed that reminder more than the kids did this morning.

Thank God for long weekends!

Thank God for long weekends! Saturday was a really busy day for our little family. I worked Rhea Lana for 12 crazy hours, Brent tailgated and cheered the Hogs on to victory, and Sydney spent the day with the Walkers and Aunt Erin. We were all exhausted that night, but couldn't wait to get out of bed on Sunday morning to head to the lake! My parents bought a new place and we loved getting to spend 2 days without work, school, or a to-do list!

Sydney-rella has been well trained. The moment she gets on the boat, she finds the spray and sponge and starts cleaning up any stray spider webs :).
Trying to get up the nerve to jump!

On Saturday while the Walkers had Sydney they made a trip to see Brent's grandmother/Sydney's great grandmother Nanny. I sent my camera and made Sandy promise to get some pics. This is all I got but I will take it!!!
